The Dutch HIV Association (HVN) approached me to design a new visual identity that could represent the wide range of interest groups they represent, from kids to women, from regional chapters to long term survivors.
HIV: A NEW NARRATIVE
The new identity I created aims to make explicit the big narrative changes that happened around the hiv virus in the last decades.
What was once as deadly health epidemic taking a huge toll among specific risk groups, has gradually changed into a set of manageable health conditions affecting a large and diverse population. New treatment and prevention options suggest hope and a brighter future for people living with hiv. The new visual identity is about this new stage in the hiv trajectory. It is based on three key attributes: diversity, humanity and optimism.
The identity was developed in stages, with frequent consultation sessions so that all stakeholders would have a chance to provide input and feel represented.
